FAQ: What is the difference between the certification statuses “Acquired” and “Assigned”?

Within the Saba training system, “Assigned” means that the certification is assigned to that individual and is available for completion within "My Certifications." The Human Research Protection (HRPP/IRB) Certification will have been assigned upon migration of existing IRB training to the Saba training system, is assigned when an individual registers for the certification, or can be assigned by the IRB staff. An assigned status means that the Human Research Protection (HRPP/IRB) certification has NOT yet been completed.

Acquired” means that a certification has been completed or achieved. The Human Research Protection (HRPP/IRB) Certification is acquired upon completion of one of the three associated courses.
