The Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) has a director who provides administrative oversight over the HRPP and reports to the assistant vice president (AVP) for the Office Regulatory Affairs (ORA). The HRPP consists of two main offices, the Institutional Review Board and the Compliance office. Each office has a manager that handles the day to day operations of the respective offices.
The HRPP will recruit staff with human research protection experience or persons who have the ability and commitment to be appropriately trained. Necessary and desired experience will vary based on the job function. Examples of experience may include experience in research compliance or regulatory affairs, performing quality assurance or monitoring activities, knowledge of clinical trial requirements, knowledge of clinical research billing requirements, supervisory experience, experience conducting human subject research, computer and database skills, good communication skills, etc. Recruitment and hiring shall follow appropriate Michigan State University Human Resources policies and procedures.
