The IRB office facilitates the MSU IRB review processes in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, university policies, and ethical standards. IRB administrators are assigned to incoming applications based primarily on the College and/or Department of the Principal Investigator, subject to workload and availability.
The mission of the IRB office is to facilitate the IRB review processes, provide support in assuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, university policies and procedures, and in the protection of human subjects, and provide timely, customer oriented service to researchers.
The IRB staff process and perform a pre-review of incoming applications to the IRBs and coordinate the IRB review process. The IRB staff also review exempt applications and provide guidance regarding human subject protection requirements to researchers, IRB members, and other administrators.
