The Social Science / Behavioral / Education Institutional Review Board (SIRB) is one of two IRB committees at Michigan State University. Applications reviewed by the SIRB generally encompass social, behavioral, and educational research and are considered medically non-invasive.
The SIRB reviews applications based primarily on the Responsible Principal Investigator's College affiliation. The majority of SIRB applications come from the following MSU Colleges and Units:
If a project is regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or medical expertise is needed, the application would be reviewed by the BIRB.
The SIRB meets the third Monday of every month. Check the event calendar for meeting dates.
SIRB committee members include individuals who are affiliated and not affiliated with MSU.
